Katelyn Rebelo is a filmmaker originally from Virginia and currently based in New York. Their work combines documentary and experimental forms, often using handcrafted techniques and rhythms in nature to explore feelings left unsaid. Most recently she co-directed, animated, and shot "Mizuko" supported by Tribeca Film Institute's If/Then Short Documentary Program. The film was nominated for Best Documentary Short at the 2020 IDA Documentary Awards, won Best Documentary Short at Atlanta Film Festival, and received special jury awards at SXSW and IDFA. She is currently a Creative Culture Filmmaker Fellow at Jacob Burns Film Center.

In Japan there is a special way to grieve after having an abortion. Inspired by these Buddhist rituals, Mizuko is a look of how a half-Japanese American woman reevaluates drawing "the line" in abortion ethics when she becomes pregnant.
